Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia casinos that reside just across the border from nearby Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime spot, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a few controls constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; however, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 17:00, and though visas are for all intents and purposes required to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The original Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored ship casino, features 150 slots and 60 tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of 150 slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel building that contains many luxuries accompanying the gambling den, which offers 10,000 square feet of 130 slot machine games and 88 gaming tables.
